The Australian Disgrace

This is a post that has been in the making for a little while. I´ve talked to a lot of people in the last month or so from a lot of different countries and something has become apparent. Australia is an international disgrace. Not it´s people, in a manner of speaking, everyone seems to love Australians, but the condition of Aboriginals in Australia.

Countless times I have been asked about it and frankly it is ashaming every single time.

The world has been watching and they don´t like what they see.

Yeah, and how often do you have to embarrassingly reply "Um, it is complicated" and "I honestly don't understand the whole situation" etc etc.

Us White Fellas really are not educated on the true situation (via media or school) and it makes it very difficult to give a fair, balanced and educated synopsis of the situation to international friends.

I have been so embarrassed by my answers in the past that I went out and did some learnin'

One of Franzy's blog-friends has some interesting insights and experiences... maybe Franzy can post a link below here...

I write about and link to both pieces here. Much food for thought...

The other Sam: yes, I've used both responses before. Neither work well.

Sam 1: I've read that post. It was very enlightening and started to open my eyes to the situation (I hate using the word issue or situation).
